Fully Devoted:
Living Each Day in Jesus’ Name,
April 29 – May 27,
10:45 AM,
Room 105
What does it mean to do
everything ‘in Jesus’ name’? Is that an ideal attainable only by a few
‘super Christians’, or is it a way of life we can all experience? Fully Devoted
gets at the heart of what it means to be a fully devoted follower of Jesus
Christ. Tying together ‘The Five Gs’, a framework that embraces key
areas of the Christian life, this course looks at the foundational values
and practices of Christian growth. You’ll gain a fresh perspective on what
it means to be a ‘spiritual’ person. In the process, you’ll discover
how doing everything in Jesus’ name—one day at a time—can lead to a
lifetime of spiritual transformation.

 | CHRISTIANITY: THE FIRST 1000 YEARS
- Tommy & Jeanette Thompson - February 18 — April
22, 10:45AM, Room 105
From the Crucifixion to the coming of the Crusades, this miniseries from A&E traces the rise of our religion. Each week the class will view a segment of the video and then discuss it. In the series, scholars explore the
intertwined fates of the Roman Empire and the faith it first persecuted, then adopted. Theologians reveal how the New Testament was shaped and how pagan festivals were transformed into Christian holidays. They also examine modem discoveries that shed new light on the dawn of Christianity. Drawing on the Scriptures, ancient texts, and visits to sites magnificent for their historic and religious significance, this is a spellbinding journey through the first 1000 years of one of the world’s great religions.
